DIY creating the summerhouse base

The cheapest way to do this is was to reuse some of our scaffolding boards. These are 3.8m in length and we need 4.5m for the summerhouse. To get our frame to the correct length, we have chopped up a broken scaffold board and joined it. we have also used screws, so that we can dismantle the frame and reuse the scaffold boards. The boards have buttresses to ensure that the frame does not move when the base is poured. We just need to finish digging it out and put a couple of tons of rubble in first.

Last points –  the boards have been seated with a level gauge, so that the concrete will pour to the top of the board. A straight plank can be placed across to give a level top. Finally, the boards are raised 15cm of current ground level. this is to allow us to gradually raise the level of the garden.
