The Old Vicarage B&B, Little Ouse

When the house was purchased we had eleven chimneys swept. They hadn’t been swept in many years and it was a struggle for the chimney sweep. The purpose of the initial sweeping was to identify which fireplaces had a good upward draft. We then left it a couple of seasons. The picture shows how rooks can soon fill a newly swept chimney. This took them three years. The chimneys have now been refurbished and new fireplaces, wood burners and bird guards fitted.
