The stable renovation

A few pictures of the stable block before and during renovation. The ivy was particularly hard to get off! It had worked its way under the slates and wrapped around the chimney. It took some time but the chimney has been rebuilt new windows, doors and the roof has been repaired and slated. When it is finished, it’ll have moved from a stable block to a utility building for this century.

The last jobs for the external appearance are the gutters to be fitted, the new windows and French door for the old cart room are being made. that will make the building wind and rain proof. You’ll notice that the lean-to on the right hand side has not been touched yet. This will be taken down later in the year and enlarged to create the jacuzzi and sauna room.
