Planting a Forsythia

This forsythia will look nice in the spring when it matures to a nice size. I have started planting the borders over the last year. The border gets a good six hours sunshine. The area for the plant was dug to twice the depth and width of the plants rootball before planting.

An update to this diary entry – I had to move the Forsythia the year after I planted it, as the dear and peacocks kept breaking off the branches and shoots in the spring. It has now been moved to one of the more established areas behind the walled sign at the drive way entrance. This is allowing it too mature as there are other plants for them to nibble on.
