The garden over the last week

The aconites have been a sea of gold and after all the extensive reshaping of the garden have managed to come back really strongly and are spreading year-on-year. Similarly, the snowdrops broke through just after the aconites started flowering and have added rather nice touches of white. As we had done extensive ground work, we didn’t expect to see so many this year. There must be a couple of thousand that have survived. The daffodils in the sunny areas are also coming through. In a few weeks we should have the anemones and tulips following on with the Sweet Williams and Wallflowers.

Around one of the old Mountain Ash trees, I planted quite a few primroses last year, which have been in flower for about a month now. Also in this area is a Winter Jasmine, that hopefully will spread around and up the Mountain Ash. The last thing planted in this area were a number of ferns. Hopefully, they will start to show through shortly.

The last picture is that of and Almond tree that I planted last year. Another nice flowering addition early in the year.
