Battery Operated Edging Tool for Efficient Garden Border Maintenance

For each new vegetable and flower border that I create, there is always the job of maintaining a clean crisp edge. I have always done this with an edging tool and a pair of long-handled shears. However, I saw a battery operated edging tool being used when I was abroad and thought it was about time to give it a go.

The first thing to be aware of, is that you need to be careful. The unit I bought has a meta blade and will cut the grass edge and if you are not careful, it will cut you an entirely new edge! You need to go slow while you are getting used to it, to ensure that you are following the line that you wish to edge. It also has a height adjuster and the two small wheels make it quite easy to manouvere.

It has more than cut the time in half that I used to spend edging the borders. However, there is always one or two areas where you still might need to use the long handled shears or use the edging tool to flick the earth forward. But these jobs are just minimal finishing touches now.
