The Old Vicarage B&B, Little Ouse

One of the sycamores trees died about three years ago and needed the top taking off as it had become dry and some of the branches were beginning to break. Previously, I have always chopped dead trees down and then ground out the stumps. With this one, it is not in the way, so I am letting nature reclaim it. I have had taken off the canopy which might be a danger. Ivy is already starting to grow up it and there are armies of bugs under the bark, which the birds are feeding off. I have so far put a couple of small bird boxes on it, but I think this monolith will be standing for several years, so I might just fit an owl box to it as well.
