Alice in Wonderland Party

It is that time of year for The Old Vicarage to host it end-of-summer party, weather permitting. A few pictures of some of the items made in the workshop. The theme this year being Alice in Wonderland.

Just a piece of 3mm plywood, that I cut with a stanley knife. It’s quite flimsy but should last the day. There are wood blocks behind that allow me to drill the hinges into to support the hinges. Other than the 3d printed handle, everything else was waste wood etc. from the workshop.

A few old bits of oak makes quickly into a hoopla game. Just need to put the number on each peg. These pieces of old oak were thresholds for doors and fireplaces that I didn’t use in the renovation.

All of the wood use to build the sign was waste from the roof repairs. Looks quite good. All of the paint came from pots that had been hanging around in the shed for years. The more vivid the better, as it is for a Wonderland party.

The rabbit hole is just waiting for the brown decorator sheets to be placed over it, to make a tunnel. The sledge it stands on was made from some old roofing wood, while the rabbit hole itself was. a piece of surplus marine grade plywood. Rigid enough to stand by itself.

Every Old Vicarage needs its own croquet set. I could have bought a nice wooden box for it. I think I will make a bespoke one after the party.
