When the church (St John the Evangelist) in Little Ouse was decommissioned in the 1970s, its brass plaque commemorating the fallen was moved to St George’s Littleport. In Ely cathedral there is also a memorial for all of the towns and villages covered by the cathedral. One of the areas show in the chapel is Little Ouse.

The chapel has these all the names listed from its diocesan area and these cupboards go all round the chapel. The doors are also engraved on the front and back with names. Which puts into perspective how many fell. Some towns, you wonder if there were any young men left.
