On Sunday the 7th, the Christmas tree lights were switched on in Ely Cathedral. The choirs were the Girl Choristers of Ely Cathedral and the Ely Imps. It is a most enjoyable event involving carol singing, a blessing of the tree and then children and their families are invited forward to sit around the tree. The lights are dimmed in the cathedral, the congregation joins in on the countdown and the tree is lit.
I managed to get a great seat in the front row just by the tree.
