The Rector’s room is the master suite in the house and consists of the main room and the master ensuite. The master ensuite was formerly the dressing room.
The first set of pictures below shows the Rector’s room finished. As with the other rooms, it was taken down to bare brick, This allowed all cabling and piping to be hidden from view. One of the longest jobs was stripping the ceiling beam and staining it. This had been painted several times, the last being pink.

The following pictures show the transition of the master bed area. The floorboards at some point had been stained around a rug. This of course meant that a light sanding on these areas had to take place to match them into the rest of the floor before they could be hard waxed.

On the left you can see the door into what was the dressing room, now the master ensuite. There is also a connecting door a Jack and Jill arrangement it appears. This door has now been sealed. Only the master bedroom has access to the master ensuite.
The fireplace insert had been ripped out for some reason and this had weakened the surround. As the paint needed stripping, it was sent aways to be dipped and a new fireplace insert purchased and fitted.
The hardest thing was the iron clips that held the parts of the slate surround together had deteriorated and become brittle. New ones had to be made on the shed to get the fireplace to fit back together.

Just finishing – No need for the pieces of wood, they were just lent against it. Now just the cosmetic work of polishing iot and touching up the paintwork.
