At the bottom of the garden are a number of rabbit holes. When I first saw the size I thought it might be a Badger set, which I would have liked, but no such look. But I can live with rabbits! They must have been here for decades, as the ground is risen by just under a metre in places with the spoil they have excavated out of their burrows.

This wildlife area just takes a corner of the garden and is situated behind the new summerhouse. As the main garden is two acres, leaving a third of an acre to the rabbits isn’t an issue. It just needs strimming a couple of times a year. I’m thinking of starting to sow wild flowers next year and enlarge this area past the mountain ash trees to the walnut trees.
They do cause a little bit of damage, but I am sure that that is exactly what they say about me.
