Chitting Potatoes, planting Garlic and Asparagus

I’ve always been told to get garlic established in the late autumn. This year, I have been running behind, so I am trying Pink Germidour, which they are selling as a late winter/spring planting variety. These bulbs had already started sprouting, so I have separated the garlic bulbs into individual cloves and will see how these cope. I will need to get the bed prepared for them.

I’v potted these asparagus to start them off. Never grown asparagus before, so we shall see how it goes.

I also thought I would go for the standard three plantings of potatoes. First Earlies – Rocket, Second Earlies – Wilja, and a Maincrop – Cara. The first earlies are now in an egg box on the windowsill in the shed to chit. I’lll do the same for the second earlies, but not any point doing it for the main crop.
